The San Mateo County Medical Center operates several outpatient clinics throughout San Mateo County that specialize in a range of services, such as STD screening and treatment, HIV or AIDS services, pediatrics and urgent care and much more. The San Mateo Medical Center is dedicated to serving the healthcare needs of all residents of San Mateo County, with an emphasis on education and prevention, and without regard for ability to pay. Their Mobile Health Clinic offers convenient medical care for low-income and homeless people and no one is denied service. If you don't have insurance, their Community Health Advocates will help you find affordable healthcare coverage.
Samaritan House operates two highly recognized Free Clinics, one at 19 W. 39th Ave., San Mateo, and one at 114 5th Ave., Redwood City. Each provides a wide range of primary and specialty medical and dental services to uninsured, low-income residents. The two Clinics employ only eight staff members, yet provide over 9,000 patient visits each year. Patients of the clinics are the working poor who tend to earn just enough income to be ineligible for Medi-Cal coverage, yet do not receive health insurance through their employers and cannot afford to pay for "out-of-pocket" health insurance.
The San Mateo Immunization Program offers free immunizations and health exams at a variety of clinics at locations throughout San Mateo County. They provide free pediatric immunizations and adult flu immunizations through their many clinics and mobile health vans.
