Experienced Sales Representative

With over 70 million residential homes, representing 21% of the U.S. carbon footprint, Sustainable Spaces is looking for dynamic, motivated and eager candidates with a passion for learning to become a part of a groundbreaking movement which uses building science to improve residential energy efficiency, health and comfort.We are currently seeking a Home Performance Specialist (HPS) to be based in our San Francisco office. We are at an early stage of developing our sales department, so you will have a significant impact on the team’s culture and development. The HPS has primary responsibility for creating and maintaining excellent client relationships as they lead clients from home energy audits to retrofitting projects and act as the client’s primary contact throughout their experience with our company. Additional responsibilities will include:
-Conduct energy audits in new customers’ homes
-Maximize conversion rate from home audits to retrofitting work
-Greatly increase customer satisfaction through improved communication and turn-around time
-Establish a professional knowledgebase on current and newly developed practices within the industry
-Garner client trust through education and genuine concern for their situation
-Perform final walk-throughs with clients to ensure satisfaction and success of project
Qualifications:
We are looking for someone who possess an entrepreneurial and educational spirit and thrives in a fast-paced, demanding work environment. She/he must have superior sales and communication skills and be able to easily lift fifty pounds since you’ll be hauling test equipment into and out of our vehicles on a daily basis. For the first month of training, you must be willing and able to work four 10 hour days with our construction crew plus a fifth day in the office.
Preferred:
Ideally, the candidate will have an understanding of energy-efficient/green building practices. While extensive knowledge of building science is not required, it will become an essential part of the job, so you should be enthusiastic to learn how reducing residential energy use can make a positive impact on the environment. A background in education or anything related to physics is also helpful.
Salary and Benefits:
Annual compensation is comprised of: an annual base wage of $40,000 plus quarterly bonus and a commission. The bonus is based on a combination of customer satisfaction and profit margin.
Our benefits package includes ten paid time off days, six paid holidays and three paid sick days per year. Medical, dental and vision coverage is provided. We offer a green benefit that provides $50.00 to each employee who bikes or walks to work. Public transportation costs up to $100.00 per month are reimbursed. Employees are afforded a great deal of independence and responsibility for their work within our collaborative work environment.
