Sustainable Attributes (Economic, Environmental and Social)
Water-Based Finishes We are proud to offer Decorative-Specialties' Pure Colors water-based finishes. With Pure Colors we challenge everything you’ve ever believed about environmentally friendly finishes by protecting indoor air quality without compromising the beauty and quality of the finished look. Unlike nearly all other coatings available in the market, Pure Colors emits little to no Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs). The impact of VOCs can range from strong unpleasant odors, eye, nose, and throat irritation, and headaches to increased allergy and asthma problems. Children are particularly susceptible because their higher intake percentage of indoor air pollutants compared to their total body mass. FSC Certified Materials (Forest Stewardship Council) We are now offering wood products certified under the standards established by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) which ensures wood materials are responsibly harvested and tracked through the entire supply chain from forest to final installation. The available FSC wood species we offer are Hard Maple, Cherry, Red Oak, Bamboo and MDF. FSC materials cost more than non-FSC materials. All customers, who choose to reface their cabinets with FSC wood, will receive an FSC certificate of authenticity. NAUF (No Added Urea-Formaldehyde) We offer a few NAUF options for customers desiring products that do not have formaldehyde added during the manufacturing process, instead using alternative forms of glue. Using a NAUF MDF panel with a hardwood frame is a great option for painted refacing projects. LEED (Leadership In Energy and Environment Design) Projects seeking certification under the U.S. Green Build Council (USGBC) Leadership in Energy and Environment Design (LEED) program can contribute to the Material & Resources or Environmentally Preferable Products category by refacing your cabinets with FSC certified products or Bamboo as a Rapidly Renewable Resource. You can contribute to the Indoor Environment Quality category by using NAUF products. Bamboo Another Green option for you to consider is Bamboo. Bamboo is the fastest growing plant on Earth, and is harvested ensuring the health and vitality of the plant for future harvests, without negative impact on our environment. Though there are many types of bamboo material, WalzCraft prefers a multi-layered flat grain that creates a very desirable look in cabinetry. As an environmental bonus, our flat grain material utilizes a non-urea formaldehyde glue to bond the multiple layers of bamboo. Bamboo is available in blond, which refers to this specie's natural color, or caramelized. Caramelized is a process of pressure-heating the bamboo slats to "brown" the sugar compounds naturally present in the plant, without using stains or dyes. otty material is wasted and subsequently more material is required for the application.

I recently had Custom Cabinet Refacing take my old, ugly laminate cabinets and transform them in to gorgeous antique white cabinets in a matter of four days. The owner is responsible, cleans up after himself and shows up when he says he will. The quality of the work is exceptional. I'd recommend this company with five stars and flying colors.
