Bottom Line: The Alliance’s commuter shuttle service offers conveniently scheduled vehicles to carry commuters in comfort from BART and Caltrain stations to within easy walking distance of many major San Mateo County employers..

shuttle

Lots of people would like to take transit to work, but for many, the distance between their work and the nearest Caltrain or SamTrans station is too far to walk. A recent survey by the Alliance found that distance from work to transit station was the second most cited reason for not taking transit for a commute.

So how do you make the final link between public transportation and your workplace? The Peninsula Traffic Congestion Relief Alliance runs multiple shuttles throughout the county. A unique coalition of private businesses and government agencies funds the service and The Alliance acts as broker between cities and interested employers, providing everything from management to marketing, to help create successful programs.

Take Action:

  • Visit the Alliance shuttle page to see a list of current shuttles and schedules; see if one fits your commute.
  • If you’re an employee, go here to find out how to ride a commuter shuttle once you’ve found one.
  • If you’re an employer and want to explore the tax benefits of establishing a shuttle program at your business, visit here.
