Austin Mader-Clark, an avid walker, cyclist, airplane pilot and passionate advocate for alternative, non-petroleum-based fuels, challenges others to "fill their tank and save the world" with her innovative new approach to making alternative fuel available in a centralized and convenient location. On Earth Day 2008 she opened Autopia Biofuels located at 1025 South Railroad Avenue in downtown San Mateo.
Autopia Biofuels is a small, independent, Green Community Hub with an Eco-Store and Biodiesel Filling Station. They sell locally made art and sustainable products for the environmentally conscious as well as high quality commercial biodiesel that is renewable, recycled, clean burning, domestically produced and meets B100 ASTM standards. Autopia also strives to sell only biodiesel made from 100% recycled vegetable oil.
When it comes to global warming emissions, 100 percent biodiesel (B100) outperforms just about every fuel available, reducing vehicle emissions by 41 percent compared to diesel and 52 percent compared to gasoline! Biodiesel, is simple to use, biodegradable, non-toxic, and essentially free of sulfur and aromatics. Any diesel engine can run on biodiesel with little or no modifications.
